Hello. I apologize if this question has been asked before, I am looking for some advise. I am married to a Thai national and now I am staying in Thailand under an extension of stay based on visiting family. Prior to that I had an ED-Visa. I had everything ready to apply for a 1-year extension of stay based on marriage, but due to an emergency I had to spend part of the 400000 baht required to be in a Thai bank account 2 months before the application. Because of this, I will apply for the COVID 60 day extension instead. My question is if I can apply for the 1-year extension of stay based on marriage from the COVID extension once I comply with the 400000 baht requirement. Thanks in advance :)

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual is currently on a COVID-19 extension of stay after previously holding an ED-Visa. They plan to apply for a 1-year extension based on marriage but must first meet the Thai bank fund requirement of 400,000 baht. A commenter confirmed that it's possible to first apply for the COVID extension and then switch to the 1-year marriage extension once the financial requirement is satisfied.

you can apply for the 60 day covid extension and then once your funds are seasoned the 2 months in the thai bank account you can apply for the year extension after that.

On a single entry Non-O visa based on marriage, you can get a 60 day extension of stay based on visiting Thai Family. This is *completely* different then the 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19.

You can get ONE 60 day extension of stay based on visiting Thai family per each single entry Non-O visa

remember the rule that allows people to apply for 60 day covid extensions runs out on Jan 29th (next Friday) so you need to apply for it before then.

hi Tod. I went to CW today and the Immigration Officer told

me to come back on Feb 20 (5 days before my Non O 90 day visa expires) and I will get the 60 day extension. I think there is nothing official about the 60 day COVID being cancelled
