Hello,

Looking for info and advice on the following,

I came in on multiple visa for 60 days and then got 30 day extension, my stamp date is 01/08/22 to leave.

I am going to apply for a retirement visa, I have opened a bank account and have sent funds for the 800k but can take up to 12 days ( my banks policy )

Can I go on 12/07/22 to immigration and start the application and get a 90 day extension and if the funds are not in for 12/07/22 return when it does arrive in my account?

Also my girlfriend has filled in TM30 that I am residing at her house, when would I fill out TM28 and can I do it online?

Thank you in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about applying for a retirement visa in Thailand, specifically about starting the application process before their 800,000 THB funds are deposited, and the possibility of obtaining a 90-day extension. Responses indicate that a 90-day extension isn't available unless funds are already in the account and that the application should be made with at least 15 days remaining on the current visa. Alternatives suggested include applying for a 60-day COVID extension or exiting and re-entering the country to obtain a new entry stamp.

You COULD apply for a 60 day covid extension (although it is not guaranteed that you would get it because it's at the discretion of the issuing office/officer)

OR

You could exit/re-enter the country and get a NEW entry stamp. You said you came in on a multiple entry visa for 60 days, so if the METV visa is still valid you could get another entry on that by exiting/re-entering, OR come back in on a 30 day visa exempt if it's not.

there is no 90 day extension 🙁

you need to HAVE the funds in your account AND have a minimum of 15 days left on your current stamp on the date you apply for your 90 day Non-O VISA.

That's because at most offices the application goes under review for 2 weeks before you go back to get the Non-O visa and a new 90 day entry stamp inked in

Some offices require a minimum of 21 days left on your current stamp (Chiang Mai, Phuket etc) to do it

What immigration office do you use?

Bangkok, I’m hoping the funds will be in, but in the off chance it’s not, there would be no point going to immigration? Option to go out and come back in with a fresh 30 day visa?

Also if I go tomorrow to ask for covid extension, what paperwork would I need?

, remember, the Covid extension would be start on the day of application IF it's approved. Not like tourism extension which will be added (top-up) to your stamp. General information for the Covid extension is here

no point at all, you need the funds IN a thai bank account in your name only with proof they were transferred in from abroad on the date you apply for the Non-O visa, so if the funds aren't there don't waste your time.

You could follow what I said in my post below about exiting/re-entering OR applying for a covid extension before the 25th of July when the program runs out

ok I understand the funds must be in , I’m hoping they would be in for 12 th as I know immigration have a few holiday that week, I’m assuming they are struck with the 15 day rule also of 15 days on current stamp? My multiple visa is valid till October 22, so I can do a run and use that to come back in?

there is no wiggle room on a minimum of 15 days remaining on your current stamp AND as I said some offices are 21 days or more.

You said you have a multi-entry visa, just bounce out and back in to get a new 60 day entry stamp.
