Can I obtain a tourist visa in Laos to extend my stay in Thailand until April?

Hi.

I have some questions regarding turist Visa.

I am from Denmark, and have 30 days as a turist in Thailand. I shud have made a turist Visa (60 days stay) in Denmark before I came to Bangkok, and I did not (totally my mistanke I thought I could do it in Bangkok, but I can not).

I arrived the 7 December 2018, and have a flight to Denmark on the 16 januar 2019. I Will like to stay until April. Can I make a turist Visa in Laos Vientiane or some place else?

Best regards Marie

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, Marie from Denmark, is seeking advice on extending her stay in Thailand since she did not obtain a 60-day tourist visa prior to her arrival. Currently holding a 30-day tourist visa that expires in January 2019, she asks if she can apply for a tourist visa in Vientiane, Laos. The comments suggest that she can extend her current visa by 30 days in Thailand for a fee, and the option to obtain a 60-day tourist visa at the Vientiane consulate is confirmed, which can later be extended for an additional 30 days.

You can extend current stamp for 30 days more for 1900 thb at Immigration Office before admitted until date if you want to. you can get some more time to think about your next step...

You can go to Vientiane and apply for a 60 day tourist visa at the consulate there. That can be extended a further 30 days when you are in Thailand. So that should be enough to take you till April. I guess you're not taking that January flight?

Nope. The limit of two in a calendar year only applies to getting visa exemptions land borders.

thanks. Actually I have cross the boarde by plain twice this year, can that be a problem?

Sure is. And you can fill the application and make your copies of passport pages at the consulate.

Bear in mind though that if you choose another consulate in a different country the rules will likely be stricter. You need your passport, one (?) passport photo and the fee which is 1900 baht if memory serves. It's next day pick up so you'll be overnighting in Vientiane but it's a great little city. You can pay for anything there with baht so don't bother with the forex.

You will not need proof of travel to get the visa. There is a slight risk of being asked to show a ticket within 60 days at immigration when entering Thailand. But, as I'm sure you don't have an extensive entry history here, I wouldn't concern myself.

The Vientiane consulate is supposed to be the easiest to deal with and I was never asked for onward travel proof. Maybe you'll get a second opinion on that.

thank you! No, I Will change the flight, but when I aply for the 60 Day turist Visa should I then have a flight ticket after 60 days, or Will it be ok to show a ticket for April (90days)? Also what should I bring to the consulate?
