TLDR : Answer Summary
The inquiry addresses the possibility of extending a 30-day entry visa to 90 days by requesting two 30-day extensions at immigration in Thailand. There are suggestions from commenters about obtaining a proper visa instead.

- Carl - I recommend that you go to the top of the Group page and make your own post seeking advice and recommendations... This way cross - unrelated subjects are not mixed and causing confusion

I'm going to retire in Thailand the only reason I'm travelling is to take some belongings over there, clothes shoes etc etc, so is it best for me to apply for a 1 year retirement visa? As I do want to retire there, I have a girlfriend and want to build house etc to live with her??

Problem?. A track record that will be interpreted as living in Thailand and possibly working as evidenced by many back to back Tourist visas and/or Exemption Entries - will get you bounced out of Thailand at some point

No such thing as a holiday visa.. Tourist Visa 60 days.. Exempt Entry 30 days.. Each can be Extended by one 30 day Extension

Get a single entry tourist visa before you leave the UK that will get you stamped in for 60 days on arrival and you can extend it for 30 days.

: you cannot extend it more than once. You will have to do a visa run to get an additional 30 days.

: There aren’t any 30 day visas for brits. There is a 30 day visa exemption which can only be extended once for 30 days.
