I am currently in Thailand on a 60-day tourist visa, issued as an Indian national with a visa sticker. I would like to inquire about the process for extending my stay. I have been informed that a 30-day extension is possible; however, I have also heard that in some cases, only a 7-day extension may be granted.

Could you kindly provide guidance on how I can apply for a 30-day extension of my current visa? Additionally, I would appreciate any advice on whether it is possible to obtain a new 60-day tourist visa from within Thailand, or if I would need to exit the country to apply for a new visa.

Thank you in advance for your assistance. I look forward to your response.

TLDR : Answer Summary
An Indian national on a 60-day tourist visa in Thailand can apply for a visa extension but will typically be granted only a 7-day extension. They cannot obtain a 30-day extension on the existing tourist visa. To get a new 60-day tourist visa, it is recommended to exit Thailand and re-enter, which would then grant them 60 days with an option for a further 30-day extension.

Hi. There was some misunderstanding in the other group you posted this in.

It’s not possible to get a 30 day extension off a tourist visa for an Indian national. You’ll only get 7 days.

However if you leave and return you’ll get a free visa exempt entry for 60 days and this can be extended for 30 more days.
