Could anyone provide information about how to process a tourist visa for Thailand? Specifically:

1. Where in the Philippines can we apply for it?

2. Is it possible to apply online?

I am a Filipina, and my German boyfriend and I are currently living together in the Philippines. We want to know if it is possible to extend our stay in Thailand for up to 6 months after we arrive there.

Should we process the visa and the extension here in the Philippines, or can it be done after arriving in Thailand?

We would greatly appreciate clear and detailed answers to our questions. Thank you for your help!

TLDR : Answer Summary
To apply for a tourist visa to Thailand from the Philippines, you can submit your application in person at the Thai embassy in Makati. Currently, online applications are not available as the Thai embassy in Manila will only transition to an e-visa system next year. Depending on your nationality, it may also be possible for you to enter Thailand without a visa, receiving a visa-exempt stay of 30 days, which can be extended for another 30 days after arrival. It's important to note that tourist visas typically do not allow for a stay longer than 3 months without exiting the country, thus exceeding 6 months is not feasible on a tourist visa alone.

Hindi ka po pwede mag stay ng 6 months sa thailand if tourist lang kailangan mo po mag exit after 3 months pwede naman po visa run sa Laos but anyway you don't need to apply visa in Philippines you can apply the visa here after before end of 2 months here..andito po ako sa Thailand ngayon which is what I did as a tourist.

We are planning to stay in Thailand for 6 months. Could you please provide your best suggestions? Do we need to apply for a visa before arriving in Thailand, or can we apply for an extension once we are there?

There is no limit and there is no 180 day rule. But you can't live in Thailand without a long term visa. Each entry is at the discretion of the immigration officer you are standing in front of, and eventually they will tell you that you're not a tourist and that you are abusing the system. They'll either give you a warning or deny you entry.

for a 6-months stay, the best visa you can apply for, is the 6-months multi entry Tourist Visa. Each entry within the visa-validity period, gets you a 60-days stay permit, which can be extended by 30 days. There is NOTHING SUCH as a 60-days "visa-on-arrival". What Dorai Ching Ching meant is the visa exempt entry. You get stamped in for 60 days and can extend by further 30 days. You can theoretically do a border bounce and on return get stamped in for another 60 days. But this is solely upon the discretion of the Immigration officer at the border. If you got a Tourist Visa, this will ensure that you won't be denied entry

watch out before giving bad advice. ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜ก There is nothing such as a "60-days visa-on-arrival". A visa-on-arrival must be bought for 2000.- THB and only allows people from certain countries a 15 days stay permit !!

We are from Philippines and German country sir ..not on this list of countries

@Nenz ********
you might be allowed to repeat the visa-exempt entry after the first 90 days stay permit. I would but use a border-run company to ensure the border bounce goes well
Nongnuch ********
@Nenz ********
citizens of both countries will get a 60-days stay permit upon a visa-exempt entry, and can extend for 30 more days on Immigration for 1900.- THB. You DEFINITELY ARE on the list of 93 countries whose citizens are elegible for a visa-exempt entry. But you are NOT elegible for a visa-on-arrival, this is nonsense!

we are the same nationality I already did.

You can process your visa at the Thai embassy in Makati

You can't do it online until next year when the Thai embassy in Manilla converts to the e-visa system. Until then you'll need to apply in person.

What passports will you be using? It's possible you won't need to get any visa at all and can enter visa exempt and receive the same number of days as a tourist visa.

what are the documents must need as a tourist visa in Thailand?

if you want to purchase an actual tourist visa from a Thai embassy, then you need to see what that embassy requires directly from them.

If you are eligible for Visa exempt you don't need anything but your passport when you arrive.
