Asking for advice.

It has been along time since I have done a visa run. I am married to a thai, have a child and the right amount of money in my bank account for a 1 year visa. (wanting a multi entry O visa based on wife and child)

1. Is there any country that provides the 1 year out side of country???

The reason I ask is I have some faint memory of being able to do 1 year visas in Vietnam. But maybe I am dreaming 😅

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual is seeking advice on obtaining a one-year multi-entry Non-O visa based on their marriage to a Thai spouse and having a child. They inquire if any country allows for this kind of visa issuance. Responses suggest visiting Thai consulates in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, or Savannakhet, Laos, which can issue the visa without strict financial requirements in certain cases. It is also advised to consider applying for a 90-day visa in Thailand, which could later be extended.

Keep in mind IF you go to another country and get that year-long, multi-entry Non-O visa from a thai consulate it means you only get stamped in for 90 days at a time and have to exit/re-enter to get a new 90 day entry stamp for the validity of the visa.

As Robert pointed out, seeing as you do meet the financial requirements why not go to your immigration office and see if you can get first an in country 90 day Non-O visa based on marriage and then a year extension after that. That way you don't have to leave the country every 90 days

So if I get a 1 year multi entry visa in Vietnam. I have to leave the country every 90days, i cant just do the online check in? Sorry been so long since ive done this 🤣

, You have to leave the Kingdom every 90 days. 1-year Multiple entry visa means, you have 1 year to enter Kingdom since the visa itself is issued. With this visa, you are stamped for 90 days upon entering Thailand. This visa doesn't give you a 'consecutive stay' for 1 year. If you want to stay continuously in Thailand, you need to apply for extension of stay anyway.

The 90-day report (“online check-in”) is just that - a report that you have stayed 90 days. It does not give you more time to stay.

That’s correct, you have to cross a border and back every 90 days. No option to do a 90 day report as you would with an extension.

The thai consulates in Savannakhet Lao and Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam are the only two thai consulates in the area that issue year-long, multi-entry Non-O visas based on marriage to a thai without any proof of funds.

Depending on your current stay inside Thailand and with 400.000 Thb in your bank account you can apply for:

Conversion into the Non Immigrant O visa based on marriage

Extension of Stay based on marriage and when that is stamped into the passport the Multiple Re-Entry Permit to travel during the year.

OR

Visit the Thai Consulate in HCMC Vietnam or Savannakhet Laos who issue the 1 year Multiple entry Non Immigrant O visa which gives you 90 days of stay on each entry.

from my understanding you need to have 800,000 in your account for a mutli entry or 400,000 if you have a child and wife.
