TLDR : Answer Summary
In response to the question about the possibility of obtaining a 60-day visa on arrival at Bangkok airport, it was confirmed that this option is not available. Travelers arriving without a prior visa will receive a stamp for 30 days under the visa exempt entry, and there is no 60-day visa on arrival alternative.

If you show up here without having bought a visa from a thai consulate before hand and get stamped in for 30 days you are on a 30 day visa exempt entry.
