Hi friends-I just got my 30 day tourtist visa in Patong as they wouldn’t allow me to get the 60days. Am I able to get an additional 30 day visa at a later date?

I searched a bit and came across some posts mentioning Covid visa after the 30 day Visa-perhaps this is what I need?

Would like to stay until March, which would be covered by the 60 days.

Thank you!!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the possibility of obtaining an additional 30-day visa after receiving a 30-day tourist visa in Patong due to being ineligible for a 60-day visa. They express a desire to extend their stay until March and mention encountering information about a Covid visa. A comment clarifies that a second extension is not possible for a tourist visa, but a Covid extension may be available if applied for by January 25, though it is not guaranteed.

You are not talking about visas, but extensions.

30days tourism extension is available only one time for an entry on visa-exempt (30days stamp from entering Thailand) or tourist visa (60days stamp from entering). No second extension based on tourism.

You may have a chance to apply for a Covid extension for 60days maximum if you apply on or before 25 Jan.

BUT, the covid extension is not a guaranteed one, check this post and prepare yourself in advance.

do you know if I go to Sri Lanka, will that enable another 30 days w/o the Thai Pass protocol? Thanks!

you will need to get another Thai pass to enter Thailand and go through the test n go or quarantine system (whatever exists then).

I thought Sri Lanka was exempt from that overall, even if just within my 30 days.

no country is exempt from Thai pass. I do not think Sri Lanka is part of the visa exempt scheme either (if that’s what you are thinking about).

If you don’t mind me asking, is your passport from Sri Lanka? It’s not a common country for border bouncers.

I have Thai pass. I heard that at the very least, within my approved time, I could go there without applying for a new Thai pass or having to quarantine etc. Many teachers told me theyve done this. You’re saying that’s not true, or, are they a different circumstance bc of their work visa?

@Shannon ******
, You mean you have 72 hours from the original entry date to use the Thailand pass to enter Thailand without modifying (actually re-apply) it IF your travel itinerary was changed on "short notice".

Don't know what makes you think so, but there is no country that is excepted from the Thailand Pass scheme now. And Thailand pass is entry date specific. You cannot use one pass to enter Thailand twice

I have no idea where you got that information from. Do you have a source for it?

For people holding passports from Sri Lanka, I know they have a hard time entering Thailand and don’t qualify for a 30 day extension of stay based on tourism.
