Hi, I would like to ask if anyone recently went for a tourist visa extension in Chiang Mai?

Do You get 30 days or can we ask for 60 days now during covid situation?

Thank you

Answer summary

The user inquired about the process and duration of a tourist visa extension in Chiang Mai, specifically whether it is possible to request a 60-day extension during the COVID-19 situation. One commenter indicated that typically a 30-day extension is granted for tourism, followed by a possible 60-day extension due to COVID-19 circumstances, hinting that the extension may depend on the traveler’s nationality as well.

I believe they usually give 30 day extension of stay based on tourism first, and then a 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19 after.

What's the nationality of your passport?

You'll get the 30 day extension of stay based on tourism first, and then you can apply for the 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19 after.

HOWEVER, the last day they are selling it is May 29, 2021 (for now).
