I went to si racha immigration the people there gave me a hard time not sure if they're aware of the covid extension but I only got 30 days for 1900 not the 60 days. Then upon leaving the lady said only this one time she will help me but why wasn't I given the extra 30 days is there some way to report the office ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user in Chonburi faced difficulties at the Si Racha immigration office while applying for a COVID extension. They received only a 30-day extension instead of the expected 60 days and were unsure if they were treated correctly. Various comments clarified that the 'under consideration' stamp means the request is still being processed, and it is common for offices to issue a 30-day extension instead of 60 days. The final approval can require a return visit. Community members emphasized the importance of checking the stamps in one’s passport and provided guidance on ensuring legitimate documentation and interactions with immigration officials.

I'm shutting this down:

1. READ YOUR STAMPS! If the stamp says "under consideration", it means they are reviewing the documents to decide if they should grant the extension of stay. You would return on the date stamped to see if you got the extension of stay or not. I NEVER HEARED OF ANYONY BEING REJECTED FOR A COVID-19 EXTENSION YET!

2. If your extension of stay is approved, the balance of time would be granted. If it is rejected, you will get a 7 day extension of stay denied stamp, giving you 7 days to leave Thailand. It will NOT impact your future visas or extension of stays.

3. You have to return to the same immigration office to "close out" your extension of stay stamp.

4. We do not allow comments calling immigration officers "lazy".

Thank you.

AND this is a great post to let people know to READ THE STAMP IN YOUR PASSPORT. :O

An under consideration stamp is just that, the extension you applied for is under consideration and you go back ON that date and they will either put the rest of the extension into your passport or put an "extension denied" stamp in it.

Just so everyone is clear MOST immigration offices are issuing an under consideration stamp when you apply for a covid extension; some are issuing the 60 days on the spot, but most aren't.

READ YOUR STAMPS people..

will read it next time 😅, I think because myself and the lady were so flustered with language barrier we were misunderstanding each other to the point we were both geting upset usually is a walk in the park with my fiance because she comes in as a translator but due to covid 19 they were not allowing an additional person in the office and when I asked can she translate they just said cannot.

you are halfway through a two-step process. You will get the balance of days when you go back to close the loop on your under consideration stamp.

She's more likely frustrated and not able to explain to the foreigner, demanding 60 days covid stamp and thinks the IO doesn't know anything about covid extensions, despite the fact he has just got one. Well the first part anyway...

>So I only got 30 days instead of the 60

You did not get a 30 day extension of stay. You got an under consideration stamp. GO on September 2nd to the immigration office, and they should stamp you in for another 30 days.

so on Sept 2nd when I go back they can decline the extra 30 day stamp or is it 100% I'll get it, just wondering and the lady who I assume is the main one that was extremely upset and told me only this 1 time she will give me the stamp , does she have the power to decline it ?

I finished my 90 days already and that's that's I thought I can renew it for 60 days with the covid extension but they seemed clueless about it and kept saying I needed to leave till I pestered them showing the embassy email I got stating all non thai nationals cam apply for cpvid extension until Sept 27

1. READ YOUR PASSPORT! It clearly says "under consideration". RETURN on September 2nd, and you will get the balance.

> I pestered them showing the embassy email I got stating all non thai nationals cam apply for cpvid extension until Sept 27

What embassy e-mail from the United States government? What you should show them is a statement from the US Consulate website saying they are not issuing the letters.

I guessing you entered on a single entry tourist visa, and the office have given you the correct 30 day extension?

What visa were you on?

The 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19 is an optional extension, and there is no promises of being granted that extension of stay. However, Ihave *NOT* seen any formal rejection of stays based on COVID-19, where a rejection stamp is placed in the passport and you have 7 days to leave.

The only thing you can do is go in and apply.

> I only got 30 days for 1900 not the 60 days

What does your stamp say? Can you upload it?

>but why wasn't I given the 30 days is there some way to report the office ?

It is an OPTIONAL STAMP, and the can grant UP TO 60 days.

CHECK your passport and see if you got an "Under consideration" stamp or an actual "extension of stay"
