Can I get a 30-day visa extension at Laem Ngob without a current registered address in Thailand?

I am currently on Koh Chang and plan to leave few days before 45 day visa exempt expires. Plan was to get 30 day extension at Laem Ngob before heading to Hua Hin. 

As I will have checked out of accommodation on KC and not yet be registered in new accommodation, will this be a problem ? I have read they are strict on being correctly registered.

Also, do you need an appointment at Laem Ngob or is walk-in okay ?

I think that is what we will do. Also means we don't have to drag our luggage to immigration if doing it en route as originally planned.

I think you should be OK. If you have a copy of the TM30 that's good enough. That being said, they may not ask for it. Why not go there and ask for the requirements (but don't volunteer information you aren't asked for)?

They don't know you checked out. As long as your last TM30 is the same province as the immigration office you go to, it's fine. Just use the same address as your last TM30 on your application.

They might ask you for proof of TM30 so I'd get that from your hotel ASAP though.
