Hello 🙋‍♂️

I am about to apply for a teaching position in Bkk, and the school needs a few weeks to process my visa within the country.

My 2nd visa exempt by land plus extention is expring on the 30th of this month.

So, Either I go out to a neighbor country and apply for a tourist visa or fly out/in to get a 3rd visa exempt.

What would you suggest me to do?

Is there anyone who has recently got a visa exempt by air?

I need to get one at the end of this month.

If you could share info. regarding the process of your flight out/in, hotel/apartment & onward ticket booking; I would appreciate it.

Inbox me in Messenger, please.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on applying for a new visa while transitioning to a teaching position in Bangkok, as their current visa is expiring soon. Suggestions include leaving the country to obtain a tourist visa or a visa exempt by air, along with considerations about potential immigration scrutiny due to recent long-term stays. Some commenters recommend having a letter from the school to explain the situation, while others suggest applying for a TR Visa from neighboring countries if needed.

As

said but I’d also have the school write a letter explaining that you’re in the process of transitioning to a Non B in country. I wouldn’t show it to the immigration officer unless all other avenues have been tried, but as a last resort it may sway them to let you back in.

I hear there's no limit to how many entries you get in a year when you fly in as opposed to land entry which is limited to 2 times per year. So you could recycle your entry by flying out and fly back in to get another 30 day exempt.

You could also apply for a TR Visa from Laos. You can use these guys

there's no limit written into law, but they're not going to let you stay an unlimited amount of time in Thailand. Sooner rather than later they will deny entry after too long in Thailand

If you've just spent 4 months in Thailand and are planning to do another border bounce, expect to be pulled aside at immigration at the airport and asked why you're back already. Why are you staying so long in Thailand?

Prepare to be asked to show your flight out of Thailand within 30 days and to show 20,000 baht in cash or in another major currency.

It would be much better if you left and waited for your school to finish the documents and then apply for the non-B visa at a Thai consulate and return with that.

Most employers are going to send you out of Thailand again to get your non-B anyway.
