Update: Yes, I did require a reservation into the 30 day extension. I was able to find a week reservation that was cancelable. To those that commented “just book a place and cancel it… When your booking less than a month of the reservation date the cancelable ones are harder to find… You sure are grumpy bunch
Hello all, I am currently on a 60 day tourist visa and I am applying for a 30 day visa extension. Immigration tells me I will need “Receipt of booking reservation”.
Does this need to be for the full 30 days, or can it be for a few days? We are unsure if our travel plans as of now. Thank you!

Funny how it is a holiday and the IMMI thinks are just sitting in one room for 30 days looking at the wall. Never understand this. Who want to books whole 30 days, I usually book for 1 night and if the place is great I extend my stay, if not I move somewhere else nicer. Should be able to do this online, pay the cash and be done with it. IMO.
It's like the retirement visa, I could stay in a different hotel every week for 12 months and see the country... but they want a 12 months lease... both are valid retirements.
Thailand doesn't regulate its civil servants the way most farangs are used to in their home countries. This is both good and bad, depending on the context. If you go with the flow, you generally come out ok, sometimes even ahead. If you tend towards the OCD end of things, you should probably stay somewhere like Switzerland.
Just chop the booking. Book 2-3 days at the place you wanted to stay and then booked the rest at the free cancellation hotel or Airbnb problem solved. Good luck
I just did this process a hour ago on a island . The nice gentleman filled out my paperwork didn’t ask to see it verify any info just took the name from me and my cell number and photocopied my pp and took my photo . Cost 2200 baht was in and out in literally 15 minutes. Thailand blows me away sometimes bureaucratic things take awhile other times ridiculously painless. Love it
Graham Seal I use one stop in soi 6 near beach road I go with them to immigration they take my photo then I leave the next day I pick up my passport from the office all done no problem easy
Generally, if you plan to extend, you need to be registered somewhere when you extend, which you say you are, and I remember just having a printout of one of the places I was staying at during the extension time frame. It doesn't have to be tor the whole time.
Stephen Anthony Hotel payment receipt? Initially, I didn't have a T30 either. I checked into a hotel for one day, asked a hotel that could type up the T30 form, printed it out, and gave it to my friend. Then, I went straight to the immigration office, got the form they gave me, filled it out, and submitted it along with my passport. It's not difficult at all.
So where will you be staying immediately after you current booking runs out ? As others have said there are always places you can book on Booking.com that allow no up front payment and free cancellation. Use that option if you have no set plans.
Jesus! It is not that difficult. Do a booking for 30 days on Agoda or booking.com, print the confirmation out, go to immigration. If your plans change you can cancel that reservation
Simple question, sure. But when someone can’t figure out something this basic, you do start wondering how they’ve managed to survive international travel this long. 😂
That did not work because my TM30 shows my last day stay as the last day of this month. The last day of my 60 day tourist visa is also the last day of this month.
