I wanted to ask a question, based on a post i saw , is it possible to file my own tm30 , with the contract that i have and my passport . Because i have been living here . But its not under my name, because the owner is not willing to do it . And moving to another condo in short notice will be a hassle.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, in Bangkok, you can self-file a TM30 using just your passport and rental contract, even if the contract is not in your name. If you are in a different location, it's best to check with the local immigration office. The owner is generally responsible for filing the TM30 and may face fines if they do not. However, if you have permission from the owner, you may file it on their behalf, requiring a written consent document and copies of their ID and housebook. Also, keep in mind that you need to report any changes in residence within 24 hours.

You have to report Too. Within 24 hours of arrival at the property. And If you go to another region of Thailand and check in at a hotel - then you have to do it again when you are back at the condo.

The hotel Will report your stay so no need to worry about it.

Just annoying to report again when you are back at your temporary Home.

They just want to know where you are at all Times.

Old law that is enforced now much more then in the past ...,

Owner has to do or get a fine ...

unless he knows the people at immigration...

What you can do is do it for him OR he can do it over internet..

If you do it for him you need :

A lawyer worded paper that he permits you to do it ..,

A copy of his ID card

A copy of his housebook...

There is Also an tm30 app for mobile so he can make an account and report any foreigner staying at his property ....

I don't think you can do it without having a lease in your name.

IF you are filing the paper on behalf of your landlord you need his thai i/d, the house book the power of attorney form with the tax stamps and the filled out TM.30 BUT if you are filing the TM.30 on your OWN <- self filing, you just need your lease and your passport none of the documents from the land lord.

In Bangkok that is TOTALLY not correct :/

IN Bangkok, you can self file a TM.30 without anything from your landlord and just your passport and your lease (rental contract).

I do not know about any other immigration offices so if you don't use bangkok you'd have to go there and see what they say
