I just got a condo in Pattaya via a private notice board in the foyer of a condo. I did a deal with the owner (as we are both Australians and we wrote a basic contract on A4 paper in English which we both signed)
Now I was advised by a motorbike licence service that I would need to do a tm30 at jomtien before I apply for a drivers licence transfer to avoid being fined.
Can I do the tm30 myself with the hand written contract? Or do I need the owner to help me?
Cheers I usually just holiday in Thailand so condos,tm30 and transferring idp’s is new to me.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The TM30 is required when you change your residential address in Thailand. While it is possible to complete this process independently, you will need the owner's ID and housebook documents if you choose to do it in person. Alternatively, the owner can help you by registering the condo online, which may simplify the process. Additionally, it's worth noting that there are no strict requirements to transfer your driver's license until you need to renew it.
