Hi everyone, I am on a extension of stay based on (Non-B) work permit which expires around June 2022. If the company decide not to renew my work permit, my understanding is I will only have 7 days from cancellation to leave the country. Is there any way to extend my extension of stay (any recommendation or what type of visa I can convert to) in order to stay another 1 to 2 months after June (till around Aug 2022) to settle the house moving and admin stuff? My non Thai wife is having her baby delivery around that month (June) also (if its a valid reason for immigration?)

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual is currently on an Extension of Stay based on a Non-B work permit which will expire if the company does not renew the work permit. After cancellation, they will have 7 days to leave Thailand. They are seeking advice on how to extend their stay for another 1-2 months due to personal circumstances, including the upcoming childbirth of their non-Thai wife. Comments suggest that based on their current situation, there may be options for visa conversion, but the possibility depends on their wife's nationality and the legal status of their marriage.

As you're on an Extension of Stay based on work, this will end once you stop work and your WP is cancelled. You will have 7 days to leave. You should be able to change the reason for your extension to marriage, assuming you're married to a Thai and meet the financial conditions. As Billy Brown says, go and talk to your local Immigration office.

You're in the same position as me. Unfortunately unless you can get an Extension based on retirement (in which case your wife can piggyback like she does with your work extension) your options are limited. Do you have children at international school? If so, you might be able to get them an Extension based on studying at school, and piggyback on their extension.

Wife is non Thai, also on extension of stay based on my Non-B extension of stay. Any recommendation or advise what to extend?

First, you are not on an extension based on your work permit. You should have a type B visa extension, which does expire when you no longer have your job.

Besides all that, here is the most important detail you didn't mention concerning your situation, and it is very relevant to how you can stay. Is your wife Thai, and if so are you legally married to her, having gotten married at the local Amphur, and not just some ceremony with the monks. If she is Thai, and you are legally married to her, then you can apply for a type O visa extension based on Thai Wife. Just take your two marriage documents, and your wife to immigration and apply. You should get a 90 day type O visa extension giving you time to meet all the other requirements to apply for your one year extension. Whether you apply for that, or not, is incidental as you do not plan on staying past 90 days, but if you do, you need to put at least bt400,000 in your bank account that is in your name only right away, then the rest is easy, as it is just collecting the documents needed. That is your best route to go, as long as your wife is Thai, and you are legally married.

Also, you can work when you have a type O visa extension based on Thai Wife, so you can apply for it right away.

My wife is non thai and is on extension of stay based on my own non-b extension. So non O based on marriage is out of question. Any recommendation or advise before i go ask at Immigration? Not sure if any extension possible based on medical reason (baby delivery?)

first I would talk to your company and ask if they are going to extend your work. That would be the first thing to do. That would give you the details you need so you can plan what to do.

. If your wife ISN'T Thai, and she's here as a dependant piggybacking off your visa status, she will be in the same situation as you regarding permission to continue staying. You need to talk to immigration asap especially if your wife is soon to give birth, she may need to leave too.

You are exactly right. Yes will talk to immigration but do you heard similar situation for others to extend 1-2 months after WP is canceled?
