What happens to my wife's Non-O visa when my Work Permit is canceled, and how can I stay in Thailand until January 2022?

Hi everyone. I have a question and makes me confused. Now I'm on a Work Permit and Non-B visa and my wife is on a Non-O Spouse Visa under my visa.

But at the time of making a visa for my wife, the company where I worked didn't take care of it, so I took care of it myself using my own agent outside the company. This 31 December is my last working day and the company will cancel my visa and work permit as of 31 December 2021. I don't really have any plans to get a new job in Thailand, but I do plan to at least stay until the end of January to settle up my condo, car, motorcycle and etc.

My question is,

1. If my visa is canceled, will my wife's visa also be automatically canceled? Do I need to do it by myself?

2. What visa can I use to let me stay in Thailand at least until the end of January 2022?

Thank you guys.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently on a Non-B visa with a Work Permit, while their wife holds a Non-O Spouse Visa that is linked to their employment. They inquire whether the cancellation of their visa upon leaving their job will automatically affect their wife's visa and what options are available for them to remain in Thailand until the end of January 2022, given that they have no immediate job plans.

1. her extension wouldn't be canceled automatically, but it will be invalid when you finish your job (and extension based on employment). You need to go to cancel it officially.

2. You would have a chance to apply for a Covid extension once you cancel your current extension.

I'm a bit confused now because my visa will be canceled by the company and they don't care about my spouse's visa haha so this means my wife needs to go immigrations by herself to cancel on the same day? how about if she just comes after the new year? i thnk 31 December the immigrations will be closed

The Extension of Stay is inside your passport and as you asked before you like to stay longer inside Thailand. This can not be achieved by sending a staff member from your former employer. YOU and YOUR wife should cancel the current Extensions of Stay and apply for a new Extension of Stay in person at the Immigration Office

You cancel the Extension of Stay at the Immigration Office where you got it, it is the first line of text of the stamp. You can apply directly for a new Extension but depending on office and their rquirements for an local address

As you stop working on 31 Dec 2021, you need to get your Work Permit and your Extension of Stay based on working cancelled on that day, you may do this in advance.

If your wife has the Extension of Stay based on being depending on you, also her stay has to be cancelled on that day.

You both need to meet requirements for a new Extension of Stay if you want to apply for a new stay inside Thailand. IF you can not meet requirements you will get application not approved and 7 days to leave the country.

Both of you may try to get the Extension of Stay based on unable to travel and get 60 days.
