Respected sir/madam.

I am in Thailand now and working here, my employment contract will be finish on January 12th, 2022. But my working visa (Non-B) and work permit will be finish on June, 2022. So can I stay here in Thailand until my Visa finish or I have to go back to my country once employment contract finish?

Is it possible to apply for covid extension visa for 2 months (without leaving Thailand) if my visa and work permit will be canceled along with my employment contract?

Kindly suggest , what should I do the next. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

TLDR : Answer Summary
A person currently working in Thailand is inquiring about their ability to remain in the country after their employment contract ends before their working visa and work permit expire. Responses highlight that the work extension becomes void when the employment contract ends, and staying beyond that date may lead to overstaying. It is advised to cancel the work permit followed by applying for a COVID extension, which can provide an additional 60 days to stay in Thailand without leaving.

Do you have an actual 1 year visa or extension?

Is it a sticker or stamp?

stamp sir, until June 2022.

It should be an extension. Because:

- if it's the first 90days stamp on a Non-B visa, it can not be until June 2022

- if it's a Non-B multiple entry visa (validation of visa itself is for 1 year), it wouldn't be the same expiration date with WP

yes, and that 1 year multiple entry Non-B visa wouldn't have the same expiration date as WP

As soon as your reason for an extension ends, the extension becomes void. So if your work ends on January 12th, your work extension also becomes void that day and you will be on overstay if you remain longer. Please note that it will not be cancelled automatically but it's still no longer valid!

What you can do is go to immigration with your cancelled work permit and cancel your extension, then immediately apply for Covid extension which will give you an additional 60 days.

You can even do this ahead of time if you can get documentation showing that your work ends on January 12th, you can go a week before and they'll stamp your passport until January 12th giving you a little extra time to arrange your next extension.
