Hi all
Is it correct a visa exempt can be extended by 30 days?
I'm currently on a 60 day tourist visa which expires next week. I will extend it for 30 days, but after those 30 days, can I just do a visa run to Laos, get 30 days, and extend this again at immigration? Or better go to Laos and apply for a tourist visa?
TIA
TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, a visa exempt can be extended by 30 days. After extending your 60-day tourist visa for another 30 days, you can perform a visa run to Laos to obtain another 30 days. However, if you do not apply for a visa while in Laos, it is considered a border bounce. In Laos, you can visit either the Thai consulate in Vientiane (which requires an appointment) or in Savannakhet (which does not) to apply for a tourist visa.
