Hi all

Is it correct a visa exempt can be extended by 30 days?

I'm currently on a 60 day tourist visa which expires next week. I will extend it for 30 days, but after those 30 days, can I just do a visa run to Laos, get 30 days, and extend this again at immigration? Or better go to Laos and apply for a tourist visa?

It's only a visa run if you apply for a visa. Otherwise it's a border bounce.

Visa exempt can also be extended once for 30 days.

There are 2 Thai consulates in Laos. The one at Vientiane requires an appointment but the one in Savannakhet does not.

in Savannakhet you can actually hand in your documents for an application to a 60-days single entry tourist visa in the morning, and receive your passport with the stamp in the next afternoon. However I have read a tipp that said, you should avoid mondays - on this day many agents arrive
