Hi everybody. I'm on a non o marriage extension until July. I have just renewed my work permit until the end of February next year and was told to go to immigration and they would extend my visa for the same length as my work permit. Is this correct. Irish passport by the way. Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster, currently on a Non-O marriage extension valid until July, seeks confirmation about extending their visa to match their recently renewed work permit, which is valid until February of the following year. Community responses clarify that the extension based on marriage is not automatically tied to the work permit, and it’s more advisable to apply for a new extension closer to the expiration date in July rather than trying to align it with the work permit's expiration.

I think a labor officer mistook your extension is employment based.
Being on an extension based on marriage to a Thai, you can have work permit. But work permit itself doesn’t affect your extension based on marriage to a Thai. Work permit is one of the requirements for an extension only based on employment.
I wanted to know if what they said at the labour office was correct. Nothing about canceling my visa but extending it past July to the end of my work permit in February. Can your do this or is the labour office wrong.
I think you meant extend your permission to stay. Which you would usually do 30-45 days before it expires. Since your marriage isn't tied to your work permit you can just renew your marriage extension as normal within the timeline I mentioned.
