Can I apply for a work permit while on a 'Thai husband' extension instead of changing my visa?

Good Morning,

I entered Thaïland on a non B visa a couple of years ago, and have been then on extension of stay based on 'employment'.

I changed the reason to 'thaï husband' at the renewal of my last extension as I ended working.

If I find a new job, can I just apply for a work permit, or should I change visa/extension again?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user wants to know if they can apply for a work permit under an extension based on their marriage to a Thai national, rather than changing their visa again after having worked previously on a non-B visa. Community responses indicate that it is indeed possible to get a work permit while holding a marriage-based extension, and that maintaining this extension could provide additional security in case they lose a job.

with my new 'thaï husband' extension, does it mean that I am now on a non O visa? Or still connected to my non B visa?

I am so confused about it....

, a visa is for entering the country. The extension you have is your stay permit. So you're on no visa at all.

you're on a non-o extension not visa.

, there's no such thing as a Non-O extension.

She's on a "Thai spouse" extension

If you find a job it's no problem at all getting a work permit issued while on an extension based on marriage to a thai national.

In fact it's BETTER to stay on that extension because then in case you lose the job you don't lose your extension too.
