Hi all, now I'm in Thailand with a Non-immigration Business Visa. Can I get the visa extension without getting the work permit?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Extending a Non-Immigration Business Visa in Thailand typically requires a valid work permit. Most community responses indicate that visa holders should not expect to receive an extension without one, as the initial visa period is seen as adequate to arrange all necessary paperwork. There may be specific circumstances under COVID-19 for a temporary extension, but this does not permit work.

No! The 3 months you get when you enter on a non-B visa is deemed as enough time for you to sort out the paperwork. And I can only assume that it is the same if you managed to change to a non-B visa while you were in Thailand.

I see a trip to your immigration office in your near future with someone from your company to see what is required. I have NOT seen anyone on a Non-B get an extension inside the country without a valid work permit :/

You should follow proper processing procedures to avoid future complication.

In theory, you should be able to get a 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19, however you can not work on this extension of stay.
