Can I hold a Non-B Visa without a work permit in Thailand?

It is a Direktor position but I think you need a work permit for that as well although they think as a Direktor you not work 555 ...just as a major chair holder ...

Yes, generally a person gets a Non-B visa outside of Thailand, returns to Thailand, and gets an extension of stay based on employment along with a work permit.

Don't know what a long-term Non-B visa is. There is a multiple entry Non-B visa which is used for meetings and other purposes. It's valid for one year, and on each entry a person is stamped in for 90 days.

Do you have a multiple entry Non-B visa ("full page sticker") OR a one year extension of stay based on employment ("the stamp"). IF you have the Non-B visa you will be fine if your work permit is cancelled. If you have an extension of stay based on employment, when your work permit is cancelled, your extension of stay is also cancelled.
