Hi all, I want to extend my non-immigrant-O visa based on marriage for one year. I had been on the immigration office in Koh Samui yesterday and been told my money came in to late. It showed up in the bank account on May 8th, my exit stamp says July 6th, so I am two days short. If I go for a Covid extension for two months, is it still possible to go for an one year extension after that. Furthermore the wanted to see a rental contract that has a minimum rental time of 6 months. Did somebody have the same experience or any recommendations for me?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on extending their non-immigrant-O visa based on marriage after experiencing a delay in their funds coming through, resulting in a shortfall of two days. They inquire whether applying for a Covid-19 extension for two months would still allow them to later apply for the one-year extension. Furthermore, there is mention of a requirement for a rental contract with a minimum duration of six months.

You can get the covid extension or visit that family extension... both are 1900thb. covid extension is easier. You'll need a contract for your accommodation, don't remember anything about 6 months but if that's what they ask for then that's what you'll need to supply. I'm sure you can fudge something with the landlord. Atteched is the requirements from 8 months ago from Koh Samui.. You basically need 2 * files. best of luck.

I recommend applying for the 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19. You’ll have another 60 days to let your money season.

@Benjamin *****
thank you. So the status of the non o visa stays the same, but I get another 60 days with Covid extension. Hope I understand it this time. Do you know whether the extra 60 days start to run of on the day of application or on the day my actual exit stamp says to leave the country?

@Tobias ******
whether they add the 60 day extension on to the end of your current stamps expiration date OR start it on the day you apply is totally up to the immigration office.

If it's your first covid extension MOST offices are starting it on the date you apply because it's a different reason for your extension

GO to your immigration office and ask them, although it really won't matter, you are only needing the extension to get the funds seasoned so you can apply for the year so even if the 60 days starts on the date you apply seeing as your money is here already it's enough time
