hello, I am on a METV. The first 60 day date to leave the country is stamped 4 november in my french passport. Due to illness, I could not leave the country today on a planned trip. I am quite ill in bed and would like to delay this trip to immigration as long as I can. Can I ask for an extension at Bangkok immigration on Monday 4 november, which is the same date stamped in my passport. thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, currently on a METV with a departure date of November 4, is unable to travel due to illness and inquires about the possibility of requesting an extension at immigration. Responses suggest that it is possible to request a 30-day extension on November 4, provided proper documentation, such as a medical certificate, is obtained. Multiple commenters confirm that an extension can be applied for on that date, with some advising to take action earlier if possible.

no need for medical extension if you are still able to walk in to immigration in my point of view... just inform yourself about the visa extension process at your local immigration office but usually it should be fine doing the extension on the 4th.

Don't wait UNTIL November 4th to contact the Thai Immigration office.

You need to see a doctor at a hospital and ask them for a request for a Medical Extension of stay as you are under medical care and unable to travel.

Where are you now in Thailand?

Did you already get the 30 days extension of stay at your local Thai Immigration office that you can get with each 60 day entry into Thailand using the METV multiple entry tourist visa ???

IF you have not obtained the 30 days extension of stay... get a letter from your doctor that you are sick. Have a friend take that letter with your passport to Thai Immigration and Apply for the 30 days extension..or medical extension of stay.

thank you for the info. No I have not used my 30 day extension. I am here in Bangkok. I was leaving the country this week for pleasure and to restart the 60 day clock. But I was unable to as I got quite ill. I went to hospital yesterday for treatment but not to stay. So now I must go the 30 day extension route this time. sometimes life gets in the way πŸ™πŸΌ

hopefully you will get the 30 day extension of stay by your expiration date. These are the common found requirements for the 30 days extension of stay. 1900 Thai baht fee.

My friend was sick one year and unable to travel, he got a certificate from the doctor and immigration gave him a stamp of two weeks to recover. Good luck
