I have just been granted 30 days more,..instead of having to leave the country after 60 days ( I’m here on a METV ),… so my last date of crossing a boarder will be 26 February,…
The ” not possible to travel because of Covid bla bla bla ) rule will end on the 25 of January,…
Question is,…can I go to immigration and hope for an “ 60 days Covid extension “ I know that’s not the proper name for this.
Even before my 30days extension is in power,..let’s say on 24 of January.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has received a 30-day extension on their METV and is inquiring if they can apply for a further 60-day COVID-related extension at immigration before their current extension is officially in effect, specifically before January 25, when COVID travel restrictions are expected to cease. Comments indicate that applications for further extensions may be possible if made within 30 days of the current stamp's expiration.
