I have just been granted 30 days more,..instead of having to leave the country after 60 days ( I’m here on a METV ),… so my last date of crossing a boarder will be 26 February,…

The ” not possible to travel because of Covid bla bla bla ) rule will end on the 25 of January,…

Question is,…can I go to immigration and hope for an “  60 days Covid extension “ I know that’s not the proper name for this. 

Even before my 30days extension is in power,..let’s say on 24 of January.

I don’t want to cancel the current extension,…I just wanted to be upfront,…if they don’t continue this Covid no travel rule.

Sadly, that'll be between you and the immigration office. MOST immigration offices start the 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19 on the date that you apply.

And most immigration offices allow you to apply for another extension when you have 30days or less with your current stamp unless you have a specific reason to cancel the current extension... all you can do is try on or before 25 Jan to see.

A 30 day extension of stay based on tourism is added on to your current "admitted to" stamp. You can apply for a 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19. If it is approved, it will begin on the date you apply.
