applying for a 60-days Tourist Visa at the Thai Embassy in Vientiane, is the best option. You need an appointment, though, and the processing period can be up to 3-4 working days. NOTE: In Vietnam or Malaysia the requirements for an application to a 60-days Tourist Visa are much stricter and more complicated than in VientianeRossano ***************

if your plan consists of entering again on a 30 days visa-exempt entry, then this would be you second consecutive visa-exempt entry. You could be grilled by Immigration upon entry, for the actual purpose of your visits.
So you better be prepared to show, have the three proofs:
**** proof of 20.000.- THB in CASH. Can be in another currency, though
**** proof of accommodation of the next 3-4 nights in Thailand
**** proof of onward travel OUT of Thailand within the 30 days you will get stamped in

You apply for a tourist visa from a Thai embassy or consulate. Look at the website of the Thai embassy of where you'll be traveling to in order to see if it's possible.
