Hi all. I'll be brief. I've completed my 60 day tourist visa I'm now on 60 day marriage visa which ends on 14th March. I am here until 20th March so I need a week or so. My step daughter has phoned immigration and they apparently said I can get another marriage visa? Doesn't sound right to me. Since covid don't know all the rules now. Any advice?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently on a 60-day marriage visa, which expires on March 14th, and seeks advice on whether they can obtain another marriage visa since they need to stay in Thailand until March 20th. A comment suggests that the user might not be on a marriage visa but on a visiting family extension, and advises that the only option is a 90-day Non-O visa based on marriage, which has specific requirements, including a bank balance in the user's name.

You're not on any visa.

You're on the "visiting Thai family" extension that you got because you're married. The only option you have available to you now is the 90 day non-O visa based on marriage which requires 400,000โ‚ฟ in a bank account in your name only among many other things.

You really should have gotten the 30 day tourism extension before the Thai family extension if you didn't do that. But it's not an option any more since you're no longer on the tourist visa.

yes true I was here once and went to immigration after my 30 days ended, I asked for a family extension and the said I had to use the 30 day extension first and then after the 60 day family extension.

does this mean a border run then?

pretty much.

You MIGHT be able to go in on the last day of your current stay and apply for any extension, and if they want to accept the application (they can refuse), they'll give you an Application Denied stamp with 7 days to leave to Thailand. We generally tell people to avoid this if possible because it can affect your chances of entering Thailand or other countries in the future. If you apply on the 14th that stamp would be valid for 7 days (counting the day you receive it as day 1) March 14-20.
