Can I enter Thailand with a US passport during current restrictions?

ORIGINAL POSTER
I have a US passport. Is there anyway I can enter Thailand at this time.

Maybe going to another country for a few months and then entering Thailand with the visa stamp from where I was staying?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The entry of US passport holders into Thailand is currently highly restricted due to COVID-19. Only certain categories, such as business or diplomatic visas, are being granted entry, and tourists are not allowed. Travelers are advised to contact the Thai consulate for the most accurate and updated information. Some discussions suggest that certain visas might be available soon, while others mention the necessity of undergoing quarantine regardless of the point of entry. Overall, the situation remains fluid, and applicants need to stay informed about changing regulations.

Things are changing daily concerning visas. Contact the Thai Consulate in Los Angeles California. They seem to be ahead of other embassies in the world on changes. There are rumors of 60 day tourist visas being issued again, or about to be issued. All the COE, insurance, and 14 days quarantine still apply though.

the government are about to announce a new scheme In the next few weeks, if you adopt a sick buffalo and pay for it's treatment then you are likely to be issued a special tourist visa that they have been prompting, if you go one some of the Pattaya groups, there will be lots of reputable companies and individuals on there who can process it all for you. It's not even that expensive either, maybe 5000thb donation shold helo secure your application and visa, good luck 👍

Impossible to come into Thailand, only 6 categories are allowed but no tourists. Thai immigration looking at citizenship not were you come before (approximately all the countries in the area are closed too) and Americans will certainly be the last to be allowed to come in

US consulates are now issuing OA visas for reentry. This is a change in only the last week or so. What you are saying is simply wrong and incredibly unhelpful. Your stuff about no one being able to leave Australia is also wrong, there is a process to apply there but you can leave if you have a good reason and show you do not intend to return in the short term. Why post things that are simply wrong and unhelpful? No one is saying it's easy to come back but it's not impossible.

I don’t think they will cancel the STV because some Chinese people never applied for the visa, from what I understand if you wait too long you’re going to be at the end of a very long queue. This is for a stay of 90 days with two further 90 day options totaling a stay up to 270 days.

maybe but you have to be crazy to come to Thailand for the moment with the strict quarantine and exorbitant prices of flights, ASQ hotels, covid tests and health assurance

Wyow!!! So you would prefer a non-strict quarantine, one where people can run around and congregate in the hotel gym, socialize over drinks, etc. That kind of thinking is ruining America, BTW, I have done 2 "strict" quarantines in Korea and didn't bitch.

if he's willing to go to a third country for "a few months" just to get back he's probably willing to do quarantine in Thailand. He clearly is motivated to get back. You are being extremely unhelpful.

Im sure you can get cheaper ones but average cost seems to be around 80k and upwards for readily available rooms. Not that easy to book too far in advance, UK Thai Embassy is first come first served and limited spaces. I know Thais that cant even get back because there's not enough flights and with no refunds on bookings it seems a bit hit and miss.

thats included in the price. So actually a 60,000 package is only 30,000 baht the hotel gets for 15 nights. 2,000 baht per day which includes 3 meals.
