Hi all. I have a strange information request from the group. My Thai wife and granddaughter want to come visit me in the US.They both have B1 B2 visas. Besides a COVID test within 72 hrs of arrival what other restrictions are there?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Currently, the main entry restriction for Thai citizens visiting the US on B1/B2 visas is a COVID test that must be taken within 72 hours prior to arrival. There are no mandatory quarantine requirements as of now, although travelers should stay informed of any changes due to the evolving situation, particularly concerning variants like the one from India.

None so far. But make sure they get over soon. It could change with the Indian covid variant jumping borders across Asia. Presently, USA banned entry to anyone traveling from India who is NOT a U.S. citizen.

Covid test is the only entry restriction into the US. Some states had attempted to mandate quarantine, but I don't believe there are any currently. I flew into the US from South America a few weeks ago and didn't have any issues.
There are no restricted countries for US citizens or green card holders, not sure about the b1 visa holders. There were some rumors about banning travel from India, but I don't think that's happened.

The requirement for the US is three days (not 72 hours) prior to departure from the point of origin, and the three-day period applies to when the sample was taken, not when the result came back. From the CDC:
"'Why does the Order specify 3 days rather than 72 hours? What is considered 3 days?'
The 3-day period is the 3 days before the flight’s departure. The Order uses a 3-day timeframe instead of 72 hours to provide more flexibility to the traveler. By using a 3-day window, test validity does not depend on the time of the flight or the time of day that the test was administered.
For example, if a passenger’s flight is at 1pm on a Friday, the passenger could board with a negative test that was taken any time on the prior Tuesday or after."
Hi, I'm from the UK so not qualified at all to speak about USA requirements but are you sure that it's 72 hours before arrival? Mostly, the C19 pcr test is required to be a max of 72 hours prior to departure. May just want to check requiements, just in case.
