I keep hearing conflicting information. As of today, can a US Citizen fly into Thailand, if they have a medical certificate of health, and get a 30 day visa? And If so, how does one obtain a certificate of health?

*edit: Also, is it worth trying to buy a plane ticket today that arrives on the 29th? Or would you recommend trying to get there ASAP before borders close?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A US citizen can enter Thailand if they have a medical certificate of health and will typically receive a 30-day Visa Exempt Entry. The certificate can usually be acquired at hospitals. Additionally, travelers will need medical insurance covering COVID-19 with a minimum of $100,000. Many users recommend acting quickly due to rapidly changing travel restrictions and potential border closures.

it is a sign of how serious the problem is in the world.

The flights keeps getting cancelled.

Do you really want to sit in Thailand and face the same problems?

Also in Thailand you have a temporary stay and getting a new short time stay is getting harder and harder by the day, as you already notice by not getting a flight towards Thailand. Time for a plan B.

Good luck and stay healthy

There is no place you can get tested in

The United States unless you are showing extreme symptoms of flu like disease ... so you can not get tested and so you can’t get a certification that you are clear ... unless you are an nba player or movie star etc ... so good luck with that part of the paperwork

then you fly in tonight before midnight OR in essence IF these rules reall come into effect the country is pretty much closed.

You down load the AOT TM8 application and you fly right in AS OF TODAY.

you don't need a health certificate

Wonderful, THANK YOU! Do you have a link where that application can be found?

Unless you are prepared to stay abroad indefinitely, I recommend you postpone your trip. Not a good time to come to Thailand as a tourist

Agreed, but my visa where I am currently is about to expire. Otherwise I'd love to just hunker down and quarantine here.

With a USA passport you can get 30 days Visa Exempt Entry.

Medical certificate you get most of the time if you apply for it at Hospitals.
