Hello, my burmese girlfriend and i are currently travelling to Mae Sai in hope of getting her first land based tourist-visa extension. Until recently, she had a work-permit under the MOU between Thailand and Myanmar. That ended. She already applied for a new one. Anyone who is today at Mae Sai, please keep me updated! Is it still open? Are they enforcing the new rules, medical certificate and corona insurance? Thank you all very much!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking help regarding the possibility of obtaining a land-based tourist visa extension for their Burmese girlfriend while traveling to Mae Sai. Concerns are raised regarding the current status of the border, new entry requirements including medical certificates and insurance due to COVID-19, and whether they should wait for the work permit application process instead.

as robert said Burmese can't ENTER thailand without a valid VISA in their passport by land :/ She can't bounce at a border like you can to get a 30 day stamp.

Under bilateral agreements, holders of normal passports of the following 2 countries can stay without a visa for a maximum of 14 days:

Cambodia

Myanmar (for air arrivals only)

The border is closed. You could try to get her an extension of whatever permission to stay she has at the immigration office there.

It's closed up there. No crossings

it’s open today, the last day for thai and Burmese people to cross only.

Have you been there?

medical and insurance is only required when flying in

yes, the medical certificate and insurance requirements were for entering by air only, of course many of the land borders are now effectively unusable as bordering countries have pretty much sealed their borders to foreigners. All in all it's pretty impossible to enter Thailand as of today unless you meet all the requirements via air travel.

, really? Just by flying?

Anyway people from Myanmar can only get the 14 days stay out of bilateral agreement if they arrive on an airport. other wise they need a visa to enter Thailand

Last time she entered Thailand she got a 30 days Tourist Visa. I can confirm, i saw it in her Passport

If she has recently applied for a new mou work permit why are you trying to get her a tourist extension? Just let the process happen. I think because of the backlog due to the virus they have extended processing times. Normally if she has evidence of application that will be fine for immigration purposes until the stamps are put in her passport.
