hey all! I have a tourist visa (not exemption, visa), that expires december 22. How early can I go to the immigration office for an extension request?

Like, can I do it 10 days before the expiration date? even 15?

(I'm in Chiang Mai)

Thank you all!

TLDR : Answer Summary
You can apply for an extension of your tourist visa during the last 30 days of your permitted stay. This means you can request the extension anytime now in December, even as soon as tomorrow. It is advisable to go directly to the smaller Immigration Office located inside Central Festival to avoid long queues. Note that a TM30 form may be required for your address in Chiang Mai.

YES you can apply for the 30 days extension of stay at Chiang Mai at anytime now in December.

Here's the common found requirements for the 30 days extension of stay... And Chiang Mai does require a TM30 on file for your address in Chiang Mai.

if you are in a hotel, they are required to file a TM30 with Thai immigration. Did they ask to see your passport when you checked in for the hotel?

ASK them to confirm IF they filed a TM30 ? They can provide you with a screenshot of the TM30 filing.

And another one who ask a question without the most important detail, it all depends on the country of origin of your passport,

But you can go to apply during the last 30 days of your Admitted until period stamped on entry into Thailand, NOT the expiration date mentioned on the visa,
