I have a brief inquiry. Am I permitted to visit immigration three weeks prior to the expiration of my 60-day tourist visa to request an additional 30-day extension, or must I wait at least one week before submitting my application? Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The inquiry is about the timing for requesting a 30-day extension of a 60-day tourist visa in Thailand. While there are different practices among immigration offices, it's generally advisable to wait until the last week (7 days) before the visa expiration to apply for an extension, although some offices may permit applications up to 45 days in advance.

Wait until the last week, no reason to go before.

no I’ll have a dtv visa next time I come back.

I’m not going to risk coming and going without a visa. I’ve read some horror stories on here.

as many as you want until the IO in front of you will decide to deny the entry because you are abusing the visa exemption scheme

Depends on the office you use. Some allow 45 days prior, most allow 30 days prior but some only 7 days or less.

I got the entry stamp.

Then you don’t go to Chaengwattana. You go to IT Square, Laksi plaza, floor 3 counter K.

@Ollie ******
In Bangkok you can apply 45 days prior.

Do you actually have a tourist visa that you bought prior to coming or did you get the free 60 day stamp on entry?
