Hello😊

Does anyone know if I can change my toursite visa to a business visa in Thailand once I find a job. Some say yes, some say no. I'm a bit confused now.

Thanks in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, it is possible to change a tourist visa to a business visa in Thailand if you find a job, but it depends on your employer's ability to meet the necessary requirements. You'll need to ensure your documents, such as an authenticated degree, police clearance, and, if applicable, a TOEIC test score, are prepared. Your employer must fulfill specific documentation and registration requirements, and you should have at least 15 days remaining on your current visa.

.

You need to have your degree with transcripts authenticated.

You need to have your TOEIC test done with a score above 600 (employers usually want 700 or above).

You need to have a police clearance.

.

Your employer needs to be able to actually hire you.

They need to provide registration documentation and owner's documentation.

They need to get your waiver from the TCT if you are going to be a teacher.

.

You need to have 15 clear days remaining on your period of stay or extension of stay.

woo thanks for the lot of Information. πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘πŸΎ

What is this TOEIC test?

The TOEIC is the "Test of English for International Communication". This is required for non-native English speakers (including South Africans!) to get a teaching license waiver to teach at government schools in Thailand. I believe the certificate needs to be less then 2 years old.

I am currently doing a teacher's license at the Goethe Institute to teach German.

You will not need a TOEIC test to teach German at a government school in Thailand. I do not believe government schools even offer German as a language to the students.

That's true, for teaching jobs at government schools. For non-teaching jobs, the only requirement is having a high-school diploma - or to meet the license requirements for whatever job you're seeking which varies depending on the job.

If you can find employment it is just a matter of following instructions. Plenty of people do it this way

Whether you can or can't do it has nothing to do with the immigration office and everything to do with whether your employer can meet the requirements so you can apply inside the country.

The reason many employers used to send their employees out of the country to a thai consulate to get a Non-B visa because they couldn't meet the more stringent requirements to get the Non-B visa issued inside the country.
