Hi All,

If I plan to stay in Thailand for at least 60 days, the 60-day tourist visa would be sufficient. This could then be extended by another 30 days if necessary, right? Can this visa then be changed to a business visa, for example? Or is it better to apply for a business visa directly?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A 60-day tourist visa in Thailand can be extended for an additional 30 days. It is possible to convert this visa to a business visa while in Thailand if your employer supports it and the immigration office permits the conversion. However, this process may involve significant paperwork, and many companies prefer employees to apply for a business visa through a Thai embassy in a neighboring country. The cost of extending the visa should also be clarified as it is not specified in the current discussion.

You can usually convert from tourist to non-B visa inside of Thailand if your company will support it and the immigration office allows it. You would need to check with the company as doing a conversion takes A LOT of paperwork, so much that many companies cannot or will not provide it and send their employees to a Thai embassy in a neighboring country to get the visa.

So you'll need to check with your company to see if they'll support it and check with the immigration office that will be used to see if they will allow it.
