TLDR : Answer Summary
It is possible to change a tourist visa to a Non-Immigrant B visa without leaving Thailand, but specific requirements must be met. You must have at least 15 days remaining on your current entry stamp. The ease of the process can depend on the documentation provided by your employer. Some users have reported successfully completing this conversion in Bangkok. It is advisable to consult the immigration office for detailed documentation requirements.

Keep in mind the reason many employers send their workers out of the country to a thai consulate to get the 90 day Non-B because they can't meet the requirements to do the conversion inside the country.
It's totally going to be up to the documentation your employer gives you
, big difference is that inside country you need the 4 Thai staff against 1 Work Permit for foreigner and you need to proof payments of Tax, SSO for all 5 of them. Next to that Immigration Office has set a minimum income for foreigners.
you need a certain number of days left on your current stamp and you need to go to the immigration office in your area and get the hand out that lists the required documentation

You need at least 15 days left on your current entry stamp to apply for it in Bangkok. You OR your employer should go out to the immigration office and get the hand out that covers the documentation you need to do an in-country conversion.
