TLDR : Answer Summary
The question inquires about the possibility of changing a Non-O visa to a Non-B visa while remaining in Thailand. Comments suggest that the reason for holding a Non-O visa influences the necessity for a Non-B visa, particularly noting that marriage to a Thai citizen could lead to eligibility for citizenship instead.

I already work on my Non-O... the reason I'm thinking about changing is that I'm considering moving to Bangkok while my husband will stay in the province where we live. I don't want to go back to the province every time I need to renew the visa & have the immigration visit at home etc. For these reasons, is it possible to change to a Non-B from a workplace instead?
you can go from a one year extension of stay based on marriage to a one year extension of stay based on employment easily. But before you do that, swing by your local immigration office and see if they would issue you a PR/ Citizenship. It would be low cost, issued quickly, and you won’t have to deal with any more extension of stays.
Thank you. We have looked into Citizenship before - it's actually a pretty long process, once you apply it takes at least a year, at least in our province. The applications were stopped due to COVID the last time we checked.
you SHOULD NOT go off from your non-O visa based on marriage to get a Non-B. A One year extension of stay based on marriage to a Thai allows employment.
However you should go to the immigration office and talk to them about getting either a Thai Passport/ citizenship or PR. A female foreigner married to a Thai does not have to meet any financial requirements for PR/ Citizenship
