If I have the necessary paper work. Is it possible to cancel a Non-O year extension to the airport before flying out? or I can only do that at Chaeng Wattana?

TLDR : Answer Summary
It's possible to cancel a Non-O visa extension at the airport before flying out, but it's more commonly handled at the Chaeng Wattana Immigration Office. Some users reported cancelling their extensions at the airport directly, but experiences differ, with some advising to go through the immigration office to avoid issues with future visas. Leaving without a re-entry permit can also effectively cancel the extension, but this might lead to complications later.

! I will just go to Chaeng Wattana, cancel there and then go to the airport from there. I wish the procedure for changing visa type would be a bit simpler!
Just go to the immigration office before you fly out and tell them you no longer meet the criteria on the day you're gonna fly out. They'll cancel it and the re-entry permit but date it on the day you fly out.
OR
you can ask if the passport control people can cancel the extension and re-entry permit when you stamp out of the country. BUT it is my experience they don't do it.
My non-O is based on marriage to a foreigner working in thailand ... so it is not possible to get a work permit.it would be possible if it was based on marriage to a Thai.
you can only cancel an extension at an immigration office.
although leaving without a re-entry permit does technically cancel an extension, some people have problems when they get other visas after NOT cancelling their previous extension at an immigration office before they stamped out of the country
