Is an employment verification letter sufficient for a visa application as a remote employee in Thailand?

As a remote employee I don’t have a contract to submit with my application.

My employer did give me an employment verification letter amd a copy of my job description showing that I am a remote worker

Is that sufficient?

It’s not common to have a contract as a regular W2 employee in Florida.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired if an employment verification letter and job description are sufficient for a visa application, given they lack a formal contract. Responses indicate that requirements may vary by embassy. Some users suggested that recent documentation, such as a work certificate, along with a letter detailing the nature of remote work signed by an authorized person may suffice. Additionally, one user shared their experience of switching to a 1099 status for easier management of tax implications.

That's why I had to switch to 1099. I'm in Florida as well. My company is not registered in thailand nor did they want to deal with the tax implications. Was easier for the both of us. Plus I got a raise by becoming 1099.

"Letter from company to explain the nature of work in Thailand and allow you to work remotely from Thailand to be sign by authorised person and company’s seal" <- letter must specifically say that.

Depends which embassy you're applying with. Hanoi didn't ask me for a contract since I supplied them and updated the certificate of work (more recent date, the better) which details how long I've been working with company + monthly salary + screenshot of company Linkedin which shows it's a globally remote team.
