Have a 60 day TV and just into my 30 day extension. Thinking of doing a land crossing into Laos and applying for a new 60 day TV there. Anyone done this recently, any constructive advise is welcome.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has a 60-day Tourist Visa (TV) in Thailand and is currently on a 30-day extension, considering crossing into Laos to apply for a new 60-day TV. Comments suggest checking the strict requirements on the consulate websites in Laos and mention specific procedures for different locations (Vientiane requires an appointment, while Savannakhet does not). Additionally, it's noted that re-entering Thailand may grant a 45-day visa.

I was just at the Thai immigration they will give you 45 to re enter back into the kingdom.

Where did you re-enter the country? Did you not see if you could obtain a 60 day TV?

Both of the consulates in Laos have websites. Check the requirements there and follow them exactly as they are very strict. Also Vientiane requires an appointment while Savannakhet does not.
