How can I successfully apply for a 60-day tourist visa in Laos for Thailand?

ORIGINAL POSTERHi, just wondering if anyone has recently got the 60day tourist visa in Vientiane Laos.
We are planning boarder hop mid Dec, and are thinking of applying for the 60 day tourist visa, yes we do know we get 40 days but the 60 days works well with our scheduled flight home in FEB 2023.
I read on the Royal Thai Embassy Site that you need to make an appointment online, I just tried to do this but it does not appear to be working.
Any tips on the process would be greatly appreciated.

you don't need to leave the country to extend. You just need to go to immigration, fill out a form, pay 1800thb and you're good. That's it. Takes a couple hours.Alex *******

I went to Savannakhe Thai Consulate in Laos and they accept walk-in and two processing days only.
But for Vietaine, appointment you can get via their website (not sure you did but seems not working) and you will receive email for your appointment.

I returned back as soon as my tourist visa approved. But if you have long COViD visa extensions, there maybe subject to ask by immigration officer sometimes.Marina ***********

That would be ideal but if you have only 90 days tourist visa+ extension, you will be ok, i guess. I have long covid visa extensions and i used agent for border crossing.Marina ***********
