TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has a 60-day Tourist Visa expiring on May 7 and plans to extend it for an additional 30 days. They inquire whether they can cross into Laos to obtain another Tourist Visa after the extension. Comments clarify that if the current visa is multi-entry, the user can exit and re-enter to receive a new 60-day visa, which can also be extended. If it's a single-entry visa, the user would have to apply for a new visa at a Thai Consulate in Laos.

Was the visa multi-entry?
If so when is the visa itself valid till?
If multi entry you must exit and renter before visa expires and you will get 60 days and can extend 30 more.
If single entry you need to get a new visa after you exit or come in on visa free stamp.

nope, you can't just land cross into Lao and get another tourist visa. :/
You can go to the thai consulate in either Vientiane or Savannakhet Lao and BUY another single entry tourist visa though.
