I got my extension of non-O based on marriage. It is single entry. I had little idea there was a multiple entry version. Is this possible to get next time if I ask.

If possible:-

How much does it cost (nor 1900 Baht I presume.

Will I be able to go anf re-entrr multiple times without buying a Re-Entry permit?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about the possibility of obtaining a multiple entry version of their non-O extension based on marriage. The discussion clarified that extensions are typically single entry, and to leave the country, a re-entry permit is necessary. There are options for a single re-entry permit costing 1,000 THB, or a multiple re-entry permit costing 3,800 THB. It was emphasized that extensions and re-entry permits are separate matters, with re-entry permits needed to maintain status when leaving the country.

Okay, I think we're getting confused with two separate things

VISAS <- sold at thai consulates are usually sold two ways;

as a single entry <- meaning you can enter ONCE

as a multiple entry <- meaning you can enter/exit all you want for the validity of the visa itself

Extensions of stays & visas INSIDE Thailand from the immigration office are sold as NO ENTRY <- because you're already IN the country.

So if you get an extension of stay and you want to leave/come back witout cancelling your extension you BUY a re-entry permit (it's a separate thing entirely). As people said after you get your extension you can choose to buy a single re-entry permit for 1000 baht (that lets you leave/come back ONCE during the validity of the extension) or you can buy a multiple re-entry permit for 3800 baht (that lets you leave/come back all you want )

This is what an extension of stay stamp AND a re-entry permit stamp looks like

As soon as the 1 year Extension of Stay is stamped in your passport you can apply for a Re-Entry Permit:

1.000 thb for a single re-entry

3,800 Thb for multiple entries

I know, just thought a multi entry non-O would mean I could avoid the RE permit.

... the ME only gives you 90 days in country per visit. I used them for years as it suited my work rotation but now I'm on 2nd year extension of stay from a 90 day SE non O. The RE permit is easy, much easier than ME visa unless you know you will be FIFO on a regular basis.

you can easily purchase a single or "multiple re-entry" from any immigration office

It will simply be "added" to your passport and it allows you to go out of Thailand and re-enter, keeping your status of being permitted to stay under your current extension as-is
Lloyd ********
Extensions are "single entry", if you want to leave the country once or many times , you would need to purchase a single re-entry permit or a multi re-entry permit on top of the extension itself

@Lloyd *******
I think “zero entry” is a better and less confusing term since you are already in Thailand and cannot use it alone to enter

@Kevin **********
and I think you should re think, because you make no difference between visas and extensions as I did.

@Lloyd *******
You said extensions are “single entry”. Extensions are not used for entry.

so, there is no such thing as a multiple entry non-O visa/extension then?
