I met with an agent from Siam legal about dtv visas in March, she told us only ONE of us had to show 500,000baht for three months. We followed her advice. I got my dtv yesterday, and we are leaving for 5 years on November 28th so only two months left. My wife has the money however not her account. We can put it in now but it won't be three months. We won't have a home in Canada after the 28th of november. Can she come in on a exempt visa and change for a dtv while in thailand?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired whether their wife could enter Thailand on an exempt visa and subsequently switch to a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) given that they need to show proof of 500,000 baht for three months, which cannot be done in time for their move. Respondents clarified that she cannot transition to a DTV while in Thailand but must apply for it at a Thai embassy or consulate outside of Thailand. Requirements may vary by embassy, particularly concerning the financial proof necessary for dependents.
Each embassy has their own requirements about what is required for a dependent. You need to check with the embassy you'll be applying at.
But no, she cannot go to Thailand and convert to DTV. That visa is only available from a Thai embassy, which means she must physically be in the jurisdiction of that embassy in order to apply.
If they check and see that she's in Thailand or has entered Thailand during the application period, her visa application can be cancelled or her DTV can be revoked.
You can’t change to a dependent DTV in Thailand. She would need to apply for that at a consulate/embassy outside of Thailand.
Some consulate’s won’t require separate funding, but some will. Some that require may not need 3 months of 500k but just the current balance showing that.
Contact your embassy/consulate to see what their policy is.
