Hi everyone, I am thinking of moving to Thailand and want to apply for a DTV visa, but I don't have 500,000 in my bank account, I only have half of it. I work as a freelancer, contract and content traveler. Is there anyone who can help me to apply for a visa without 500,000 in my bank account? Thankyou.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about applying for a DTV visa in Thailand with only 250,000 baht in their bank account, which is half of the required amount. The community responds indicating that the 500,000 baht is a strict requirement for the DTV visa and suggests alternative options like the multi-entry tourist visa and the education visa (ED visa) which have lower financial requirements. Many commenters emphasize that the visa requirements should not be circumvented and that finding legitimate means to meet the requirements is essential.

You have half the financial requirement. Have you researched airfares, monthly expenses, etc.?

and housing and insurances

If you do not have the 500k baht, and you are paying an agent to circumvent that, or any, requirement, your visa is shady as heck.

Might be alright, might not be, depends on when or if they want to crack down on it.

And I believe it's only a matter of time until they do.

NO! If someone is promising you they can, you are being scammed on way or another.

Does anybody know if they are OK with the secondary account? I have 2 in the bank. One primary with all transactions, income comes here, debit card attached etc. And another one I use for savings, so only activity there is small interest bank pays me and transfers from my primary acc. For my reasons I don't want to expose primary acc.

500k is not much, anyway if you're a traveler just be a nomad.

@Andy *******
most people in the world don’t have a $2,000 emergency fund…so ฿500k is not a little amount of money
Elías ********
@Jeremy *******
we live in different worlds then. I read that most of Americans don't have even USD 500 on their bank accounts, but many other countries have a culture of savings. In Korea and Japan, for example, people start to save since they're children, so it's not rare that many people in their 20s have at least USD 50,000 saved. It's not about being rich, but about having the discipline to save.

very fair point. But it gets a bit off when ppl want to finesse the Thai government and work around the requirements (not saying OP is)

you read the play book and then you operate within the grey areas…people have been doing it forever

idk man lol had someone try to recommend to other ppl to falsify documents. That’s kinda crazy lol but whatever you must do for the Thai dream life

@Tae'lur *******
that’s called a visa agent…

SEAsia is like nowhere else in the world…of course minus Singapore
Tae'lur ********
@Jeremy *******
not a big fan of Singapore? From what I’ve read, it seemed like there wasn’t much to see. I’ve been trying to figure out where to spend my birthday next month, have you been to El Nido Philippines?
Jeremy ********
@Tae'lur *******
if I ever need to climatize to the reverse culture shock of a 15 hour flight I go to Singapore so paying crazy amounts of money for food etc doesn’t destroy me when I get off the plane…go to Vietnam 1.5 hours from bkk and it’s super cheap

it's good idea but i think i wanna explore thailand more hahahaha if nomad is not enough for me cuz only have 90 days to stay. but thanks for you.
Elías ********
@Rul ****************
you can also get a multi entry tourist visa METV, which allows you to say like for one year or so?
Bill *********
Andy Wonder Right. If you don't have as little as 500k for relocation and following the requirements, then I think it's logical to say keep your day job.
Jeremy ********
I hear some guys named Tony, Pauly, Sal and Christopher are there to help for a few points a day

I guess you’ve never watched the sopranos….…but some agents do loan the money to the person wanting the money for the vested amount of time (2 months, 1 week, etc) but they charge a fee for their money loaned to you for a short duration of time…the terms can be eye popping for services rendered…good luck
Cary ******
Don’t think there’s many “agents” that can help like they do with retirement visa’s.

ok sir, thanks

The 500k is the primary requirement for that visa. Can’t see anyone being able to help without it.

Some agents do but at an extremely high price.
