Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone had any experience or advice to offer, but I got approved for the DTV recently but my husband’s has not come in yet. Our flight is next week and I was wondering if anyone knew if he could come into Thailand on a tourist visa then get it changed when his gets approved?

TLDR : Answer Summary
An expat seeks advice on whether her husband can enter Thailand on a tourist visa while awaiting his DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) approval, which has not yet been received. Comments suggest that while some have successfully entered on a visa-exempt stamp or tourist visa and later received their DTV approval, there are risks involved. It's noted that applicants are generally advised to remain in the country where they submitted their DTV application until the process is complete, as entering Thailand could potentially complicate the visa status or lead to denial.

I returned to thailand before my dtv was approved. Stamped in as a visa exempt and then dtv approved the next day. Just left and came back on the dtv stamp a few weeks later. Maybe I was lucky, no interview or extra documents requested

I am pretty sure it is specifically stated that applicants need to stay in the country they are applying in, until the process is done.

A lot of people still go, and have no problems.

And a lot of people go, and do have problems.

It is not recommended. They can ask for interview or a proof of location. If caught in Thailand, his visa will be denied.
