Hi there, quick question re 60 day covid extensions. My understanding is the extension is available to foreigners on all visa types (eg tourist, business visitor etc). If on a business visitor visa and granted the 60 day extension are you able to continue working in Thailand? Or are you required to stop working once the extension is granted? Have received conflicting advise on this so grateful for other input!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The 60-day extension based on COVID-19 allows foreigners to stay longer in Thailand but does not permit them to work. If you are on a business visitor visa and receive this extension, you are generally not allowed to engage in work activities within Thailand, regardless of your arrangement (e.g., being paid from abroad).

Sort of mixed here. If you are getting paid overseas and working online for the foreign country, you would probably be OK. Working in a Thai facility for the benefit of that facility could be a problem.

A 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to Covid-19 is just that- an extension because you can’t leave Thailand. You are not allowed to work on this extension
