Answer summary
The user is inquiring whether they can apply for a COVID extension for their visa set to expire on February 7th, specifically asking if they can do so on January 24th and if the extension would start from January 24th or from the current expiration date. Community responses confirm that the COVID extension would typically start from the day of application, which in this case would be January 24th, though there are variations based on individual circumstances.

7th February based on my approval today in Phuket. I got the full 60 days added at the end of my existing visa expiry

My 30 day extension expires Jan 30th. I went to immigration In Jomtien on the 11th. I applied for a 60 day Covid extension. They stamped my passport under consideration and a return date of Feb 8th. Most people are reporting a return date of the 24th or 25th. I have no idea of why my return date is past my extension date. All I can advise you is to give it a try. Get there before 7 am.

Go early tomorrow if going to an immigration office I expect there will be so many there that not everyone will get seen.

hi , what documents need to bring to apply for Covid extension .? Thanks

Might need a letter from your embassy. I was asked for one even when it was my first time to get the 60-day thing. Had to make a second trip, lol

If you do a covid extension it will most likely start from the day you apply. So if that is an issue have that in your plan.

That is rare and nothing you should count on.
